COVERAGE
One cubic yard (27 cubic feet) covers: 100 square feet when spread 3" deep. 150 square feet when spread 2" deep.
OUR PREMIUM GRADE MULCHES
Pine Bark Mulch - 80% Pine Bark (100% Pine Trees). Premium Hardwood Bark - At least 75% bark of Poplar and Oak Trees. Premium Root Mulch - At least 80% Hardwood Tree Roots. Hardwood Mulch - 100% Virgin (no debris, pallets or ties).
DOUBLED-SHREDDED vs. TRIPLE-SHREDDED
Triple shredded mulch is a darker and richer in color. The appearance is slightly more even when distributed over your flowerbeds or gardens. Double shredded mulch works nicely. Mr. Mulch recommends triple shredded for a the best appearance. All of our premiums are now triple shredded.
THE COLOR of MULCH
Aging Mulch outside in large piles darkens in color. After spreading, all Mulches lighten due to the bleaching effect of the sun. Mulches which are high in 'wood' (inside part of the tree) bleach faster and become lighter than do bark or root mulches.
